Our Club

Kafue Celtic Football Club formerly Lusaka Celtic FC was established in 2002. The club has always focused on the youth and has produced national team players like Kennedy Mweene, Nathan Sinkala, Chisamba Lungu, Jackson Mwanza and Kennedy Mudenda.

Celtics emphasis on youth development and the creation of player pathways has seen players like Patson Daka, Enock Mwepu and Francisco Mwepu being drafted to play in Europe.

‘To provide elite football coaching of a professional standard to young players with ambition of progressing in the game with Kafue Celtic, or other senior clubs, along with a structured academic / vocational educational programme that meets their learning needs’

OUR PHILOSOPHY

You can learn a brilliant book of coaching drills by heart, but the ability to act at the right moment, to make an accurate analysis and to show how things should be done, is much more important. That is the heart of the matter!

What is our 5 year development plan?

  • 1. Growth and Retention

    The club plans to develop club formats that will support existing players as well as introduce new male and female players form diverse communities into football.

  • 2. Developing Better Players

    The club will support every player to realise their potential – in particular at a younger age. Its absolutely crucial to embed basic skills, enhancing enjoyment of the game, developing healthy lifestyles and
    creating a new generation of talented Zambian players ready for the
    European leagues

  • 3. Running The Game

    The Club will continuously identify ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of how the club is run.

  • 4. Promoting Player opportunities

    The Club will use Marketing and PR communication campaigns to play a huge role in helping deliver the key messages of the club around raising standards and safety in the youth section together with promoting the club to potential new sponsors

  • 5. Workforce Development

    The club will continue to develop and support a top quality team of managers, coaches and volunteers to drive forward the vision contained in our development plan.
